Statistics Canada reported that in 2011 only 40.4% of Canadians aged 12 and older consumed fruit and vegetables five or more times per day. Consumption rose gradually from 2001-2009, where it peaked at 45.6% of the population reaching the level of five or more daily servings, but ever since then it’s been on the decline and Half Your Plate wants to change that.

 

The initiative aims to show Canadians how easy it is to incorporate fruits and vegetables into every meal while also providing all the tips, tricks and recipes they need to make it happen on a regular basis.
